FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE // Justin Vernon Announces Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival July 17-18, 2015 In Collaboration With The National’s Aaron Dessner, Presale Tickets On Sale Now

boniver.new.3

Next summer, the city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin will play host to the inaugural Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, curated by hometown hero Justin Vernon (Bon Iver, Volcano Choir) and The National’s Aaron Dessner. While the lineup won’t be announced until early 2015, you can purchase your tickets starting today at Noon CST from the venue website. Eaux Claires promises to be one of the most diverse and special festival lineups of the year, featuring performances and collaborations you won’t see at any other event in 2015.

A message from Justin-

After several years of touring and playing music festivals of all different types around the world, I wanted to put together an event that would honor what we love about this place—including an independent attitude and blaze orange caps—but also shine a light on less familiar and surprising elements that are already weaving themselves into our future.

Having this festival right in my backyard gives me and the guest artists a chance to share familiar work and new creations in a setting close to my heart and different than any other stage in the world. To create this event within view of the Chippewa River—the very river that defines this place—makes it all the more meaningful.

We’re fortunate, because the Chippewa Valley already has a history of great music festivals. Everyone—the city, the county, and the Country Jam folks—has been very supportive. They’re helping us take it beyond music into a celebration of film, art, and things still in the works … just walking around the place is going to be an experience. - Justin Vernon

WATCH // Viet Cong Shares “Continental Shelf” Video Dir. By David Yoonha Park, New Album Out 1/20/15, On Tour Now

“I wanted the video to feel like a reel of film that was purchased accidentally at a garage sale or found buried under someone’s front porch. It’s meant to be an incomplete picture – like screen tests from a lost movie.”

- Director David Yoonha Park

Last month we announced a brand new self-titled album from Calgary-based band Viet Cong (Women members Matt Flegel and Michael Wallace). Today, during a short tour through Europe this week, the band has shared a brand new video for the show-stopping single “Continental Shelf” via Noisey premiere this morning. Directed by David Yoonha Park, you can watch the video above or on YouTube.

Pre-order the new album via SC Distribution [cassette / LP / CD bundles including poster], iTunes [get a download of "Continental Shelf" instantly], Amazon, and your local record store.
