FILM PREMIERE // ‘The Comedy’ UK Premiere Is Tonight At Prince Charles Cinema In London, Original Soundtrack Available Now

Director Rick Alverson‘s critically acclaimed film, The Comedy, has its UK premiere tonight at the Prince Charles Cinema in London. The screening starts at 9pm and tickets are available now.

The original soundtrack for strong>The Comedy is available on LP at Norman Records or via iTunes. It’s the perfect pairing, taking each listener through the “autumn of the American Era.” Gardens & Villa, Here We Go Magic, Bill Fay, GAYNGS and Donnie & Joe Emerson are just a few of the artists featured on the soundtrack.

The A.V. Club described ‘The Comedy’ as “the spiritual successor to Mike Nichols’ The Graduate and Carnal Knowledge.” New Video described it as a “powerful and provocative character study that touches a darkness behind the humor that resonates with viewers long after the story ends.”

And just in case you Londoners need more reasons to go and watch:

“Tim Heidecker gives a compulsively fascinating performance.” – Variety

“By far one of the most wildly inappropriate and pitch black comedies I’ve ever seen in my life.” – Film Threat

“A powerful generational statement.” – Indiewire

“Transgressively brilliant…” – Village Voice

On the Eve of Their 10th Anniversary- Parts & Labor a Poster History

Friday, Parts & Labor celebrate their 10th Anniversary and play their final show before an indefinite hiatus at 285 Kent Ave. in Brooklyn. To celebrate this momentous event Impose Magazine enlisted Parts & Labor to compile a collection of show posters. With commentary by both Dan Friel and BJ Warshaw, this collection illustrates their impressive career and serves as a wonderful snap shot of the Brooklyn/ Williamsburg scene from the early 2000s to the present. Take a look at this AMAZING COLLECTION HERE. The Village Voice also caught up with Parts & Labor this week talking in-depth with Dan, BJ, drummer Joe Wong about their time as a band and what the future holds. You can read that HERE. The show on Friday will feature guest appearances by all four of Parts & Labor’s drummers past and present, and opening sets by former guitarist Sarah Lipstate as Noveller, Oneida and Neptune. It’ll be a night not to be missed.
