Sharon Van Etten’s ‘Tramp Deluxe Edition’ Out Today, NYC Town Hall Performance This Thursday

Sharon Van Etten brought you her Jagjaguwar debut, Tramp, back in January. What ensued after the album’s release was a fantastic year, complete with nonstop touring, a handful of TV performances and more collaborations than you can count. Sharon closes 2012 out with the release of Tramp Deluxe Edition, which features the originals plus demo versions of each song. You’ll also receive new liner notes and artwork taken from Sharon’s journals, plus the previously unreleased track, “Tell Me.” You’ll find the deluxe edition at SC Distribution and iTunes.

Sharon returns to New York City on Thursday, November 15 for a US year-ending performance at Town Hall. Joining her are some very special guests; the list includes Thurston Moore, Aaron Dessner (The National), Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak), Peter Silberman (The Antlers), Brad Cook (Megafaun) and John Maloney. Welcome Sharon Van Etten!

Sharon Van Etten by Dusdin Condren

We are so enormously excited and proud to welcome Sharon Van Etten to the Jagjaguwar roster.

With a voice known for its stark power and subtle refinement, Sharon Van Etten has a mastery for writing songs with direct honesty and feeling. Over the course of releasing two full-length albums celebrated by fans and critics, alike – Because I Was In Love (Language of Stone; 2009) and epic (Ba Da Bing; 2010), Sharon has affected a multitude of hearts and minds over the past couple of years.  Jagjaguwar will be releasing Sharon’s third full-length in early 2012.

Earlier this year Sharon collaborated with Justin Vernon and Megafaun for Sounds of the South and performed with them as a part of the National’s Music NOW festival in Cincinnati. Watch one of their performances below.

Two New Songs from Okkervil River’s Will Sheff

Okkervil River’s Will Sheff recently played a solo show at The Living Room in New York. During the set he broke out two new songs “Walked Out On A Line” and “Lay of the Last Survivor” which you can watch below. Whether these songs will appear on the next Okkervil River record only the future knows, but the strength of these songs is evident, even with only the bare bones accompaniment of Will’s acoustic guitar. Good signs of things to come! Those of you in the Seattle-area can catch Okkervil River live September 11 at Maymoor Park opening for The National.
