We have a response to a special person who handed this to us at the Besnard Lakes show at the Bishop in Bloomington last night: U MAD


Admittedly, I am invested on this topic of whether the fog machine is cool or not. Because I spent an afternoon hustling around Austin at SXSW to procure a fog machine for Besnard Lakes purposes from Rock and Roll Rentals.  I carried it many blocks full of stumbling, booze-soaked hipsters, and it was WORTH IT.

“Sometimes I solo a lot” – Guitar tips from The Besnard Lakes

I don’t know how to play guitar, so this is like ICP-esque Miracles stuff to me, but for those of you who do and who also were wondering how to play “Albatross,” Rich and Jace from The Besnard Lakes star in this handy video.

This morning Pitchfork TV premiered the new video from The Besnard Lakes, “Albatross.” The video was directed by Kara Blake for Les Productions La Guerilla.  “Albatross” features a fantastic visual interpretation of the spies who inhabit The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night – a very glamorous man and woman both exploring the city and using clues they find in code over the short wave radio.

The Besnard Lakes LIVE on KEXP today 6pm EST/3pm PST

Hey party people!!!

The Besnard Lakes just crossed back into the United States to begin the next leg of their tour for The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night. The US tour begins tonight in Seattle, WA at the Crocodile (Jag artist Julie Doiron also performing).

Join The Besnard Lakes On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Tomorrow


Just on the heals of their epic turn at SXSW, The Besnard Lakes will tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23, make their U.S. television network premiere on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where the band will be burning through the galloping “This Is What We Call Progress,” a cut from their recently released longplayer, The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night.
