It’s no secret around here that I’m obsessed with The Besnard Lakes.  As soon as I saw this list of dates I yelled “ROADTRIP” and had a really awesome daydream about driving down the west coast and seeing the best live band in the world for as many consecutive nights as my inbox would allow.  Truth is, I’ll probably be lucky to make it to three of these. So many exciting lineups in this, too.  Band of Horses!  Brad!  Suuns!  LAND OF TALK!!!!  Merry Christmas.

From My Cold, Dead Hands: Defending The Fog Machine

We have a response to a special person who handed this to us at the Besnard Lakes show at the Bishop in Bloomington last night: U MAD

FOGMACHINE

Admittedly, I am invested on this topic of whether the fog machine is cool or not. Because I spent an afternoon hustling around Austin at SXSW to procure a fog machine for Besnard Lakes purposes from Rock and Roll Rentals.  I carried it many blocks full of stumbling, booze-soaked hipsters, and it was WORTH IT.

“Sometimes I solo a lot” – Guitar tips from The Besnard Lakes

I don’t know how to play guitar, so this is like ICP-esque Miracles stuff to me, but for those of you who do and who also were wondering how to play “Albatross,” Rich and Jace from The Besnard Lakes star in this handy video.
