WATCH // Sharon Van Etten Premieres “Magic Chords” Video, Performs Live at Later with Jools Holland

We’ve got two amazing videos from the lovely Sharon Van Etten! First, it’s the official video for her song “Magic Chords.” Director Rick Alverson, who you know for his film The Comedy, pairs the song with a visual that is both stunningly beautiful and disturbing. Shot in Bloomington, IN last month, the video follows Sharon, dressed as puritan, through the woods and into a lake, all while she is having visions of naked bodies in piles. Watch the video above or at Pitchfork, where it premiered this morning.

Last night, Sharon and her band performed live on the esteemed BBC music program, Later with Jools Holland. They chose to play one of Tramp’s standout tracks, “Serpents,” and did an incredible job. We couldn’t be prouder! Watch above.

Sharon Van Etten continues her tour, returning to the States to join Damien Jurado come the end of October! Full list of shows HERE.

Kicking off the set with “All I Can,” Sharon delivers another wonderful performance. NPR writes, “Van Etten alternately exudes quiet confidence, sweet shyness and bold aggression, depending on a given song or moment, and never lets her audience’s attention lag.”
