Peter Wolf Crier Perform Intimate Radio Session for WGTB

P1030014.JPG

Last week when Peter Wolf Crier toured through Washington DC they had time to stop by WGTB, Georgetown University’s radio station and play a few songs. Peter Wolf Crier played “For Now,” “Crutch and Cane,” “Saturday Night,” and “Untitled 101″ in a stripped down and more restrained fashion. As you listen to these live versions the simple beauty and intimacy of these songs really unfold. On the really good days in this biz real magic happens, and this session is a good example of just that. You can streampeter-wolf-crier-crutch-and-cane all four songs from the session over at WGTB’s blog.

BLACK MOUNTAIN’s Polaris Prize Gala Performance + babysitting tips!

Every year Canada’s Polaris Prize has a very lovely Gala to honor the nominees of the award. This year, Black Mountain’s “In the Future” was nominated, so the band attended the award ceremony and played their song “Tyrants” to a venue full of industry professionals eating dinner at tables and sippin’ on sparkly stuff.

Canada’s CBC also nominated the band in two categories for their annual Bucky awards.

1. Best Advice From an Artist: Steve McBean on “babysitting tips”
2. Best Hook: “Stormy High”

If you’ve used any of Steve’s babysitting advice in any of your endeavors OR love the hook in “Stormy High”, get on over to the CBC website and VOTE! Voting begins today and ends November 28th. Winners will be announced in special live broadcast on December 17.

ONEIDA Celebrate Success of “Wedding” Performance, Plan More Live Dates

On June 13th and 14th, ONEIDA showcased a complete performance of their 2005 album “The Wedding” at The Kitchen in New York, accompanied by a string quartet, avant-garde pianist, and multimedia art direction. According to those who were there, the “unique hybrid of multimedia concert and non-didactic rock opera” was, in a word, awesome. Check out the reviews from Urb and Vanity Fair

Oneida also kicked off the 2nd day of the Terrastock Festival this weekend, this time opting to rouse the crowd with some heavy, heavy jams. After hypnotizing them with 15 minutes of the classic “Sheets Of Easter”, the band launched into the live debut of “Preteen Weaponry”, their 40-minute opus to be released on Jagjaguwar in early August. They will be taking it on the road around then as well. A word of advice: DO NOT miss it!
