Sharon Van Etten Announces New Album, Tramp, Out February 7

We are pleased to announce that Sharon Van Etten’s debut album on Jagjaguwar, Tramp, will be released February 7. The album, which is the culmination of  14 months of scattered recording sessions with the National’s Aaron Dessner, contains as much striking rock as pious, minimal beauty; it can be as emotionally combative as it can sultry. Contributions from Matt Barrick (The Walkmen), Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), Zach Condon (Beirut), Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak), Julianna Barwick, and Dessner himself add a glowing sheen to the already substantial offering.

Peter Wolf Crier Releases New Video, Tour with Dawes

Peter Wolf Crier has once again teamed up with the visionaires at Northern Outpost, putting together a new video for“Down Down Down.” After collaborating with Peter Wolf Crier on the “Hard As Nails” video earlier this year, Northern Outpost once again finds the maximal effect in minimal elements for “Down Down Down.” Incorporating simple black and white lighting and a scrolling film reel effect, this video captures the fluid, but heavy feel of the song.

Coming into the home stretch of 2010, Peter Wolf Crier are still going strong. Right on the heels of a great tour with Midlake and Rogue Wave, Peter Wolf Crier will start their fall tour with Dawes and on some dates Vetiver. From there they’ll finish out the year with their first tour of the UK. Full tour dates after the jump.

Peter Wolf Crier Release New Music Video

Last Autumn, Peter Wolf Crier self-released their album Inter-Be in Minneapolis. In conjunction with this they collaborated with local artist Jeremy Catterton and the folks at video production team Northern Outpost. They rented an empty house and created a magical experience where guests were led room to room finding in each room a different performance by Peter Wolf Crier accompanied by unique performance art. You can read a great live review of the entire show HERE.

Now Peter Wolf Crier and the Northern Outpost team: Max Becker, Kevin Russell, and Joe Clark have partnered again to bring you a brand new music video for Peter Wolf Crier’s “Hard As Nails.” The video incorporates simple yet savvy use of light, a lamp knocked over, candles extinguished, a flash light’s beam, to portray movements in time as the video tells the story of troubled relationship.
