plwall

We are proud to offer “Rest” a new mp3 from Parts & Labor’s forthcoming release Constant Future. The song perfectly encapsulates the band’s ability to take elements of noise and turn them into a truly infectious pop song. Starting today, you can pre-order the record from InSound and receive an instant mp3 download of the new album. You can also stream a new track from the album each week at  PartsandLabor.net. On March 8, P&L will celebrate the release of the new album with a show at Monster Island Basement in their hometown of Brooklyn, NY (Check out the band’s awesome video flyer HERE). From there they will be touring to this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival, with fellow Brooklynites Pterodactyl. Pterodactyl’s guitarist Joe Kremer, will join Parts & Labor on all dates, and P&L’s Dan Friel will sit in on Pterodactyl’s sets playing electronics and keyboards. New Mp3 from Small Black

JAG174

Last week we announced the first details of Small Black’s first full-length album New Chain due out Oct. 26 in the U.S. and Oct. 25 in the U.K. We are now proud to share the first single “Photojournalist.” The song begins with a lilting sliding beat before dropping into a gorgeous moment of ambient wash. As the lyrics kick in with lead singer Josh Kolenik repeating the refrain “rise up again, like a ghost” the song does just that, growing more concrete in form as Josh’s vocals strengthen, are supported by a chorus, and drums come up in the mix. Layers are added until the song hits maximum velocity only to disappear even quicker than it began.

Peter Wolf Crier Perform Intimate Radio Session for WGTB

P1030014.JPG

Last week when Peter Wolf Crier toured through Washington DC they had time to stop by WGTB, Georgetown University’s radio station and play a few songs. Peter Wolf Crier played “For Now,” “Crutch and Cane,” “Saturday Night,” and “Untitled 101″ in a stripped down and more restrained fashion. As you listen to these live versions the simple beauty and intimacy of these songs really unfold. On the really good days in this biz real magic happens, and this session is a good example of just that. You can streampeter-wolf-crier-crutch-and-cane all four songs from the session over at WGTB’s blog.
