The Soft Province (Jace Lasek of Besnard Lakes) Debut LP Out Now

Picture 1

Besnard Lakes frontman Jace Lasek met Michael Gardiner when they were just kids playing baseball in Saskatchewan. They began jamming together as teenagers, and Michael contributed to The Besnard Lakes as a multi-instrumentalist since the band’s very beginning.

During a heat wave in August 2010, Lasek and Gardiner recorded the self-titled Soft Province debut LP, at Lasek’s own Breakglass Studios in Montreal. The two old friends grew up together, and grew into the same influences. And the outcome demonstrates how in-tune they are with one another. Guests on the album include Olga Goreas of Besnard on drums and bass, and additional drumming from Max Henry of Suuns and Young Galaxy.

The album expands Lasek’s signature sound of  masterful, whirling layering and his unmistakable voice, proving  just as multi-faceted as the instrumentation he achieves.

You can download “One Was a Lie” via Three Ring Records here.

This is a must-have for any Besnard Lakes diehard!
