LISTEN // Lia Ices Shares ‘Higher (Sam Proffitt Remix)’ Via Magnetic Magazine

You know that point of the evening where night begins to turn to day? You’re tired and thinking of leaving the party, but then you catch the sun breaking through and can’t imagine being anywhere else? That’s where Samuel Proffitt’s remix of Lia Ices’ “Higher” comes in. This indelibly catchy remix gives the summer single an icy, airy lift with crispier snaps and flecks of soul-infused synths. The original version of “Higher” that appears on Ices was co-produced by Clams Casino and Benny Sagittarius, which is the sister/brother production duo of Lia Ices and her psychic twin brother Eliot. What’s more, it’s available for free download! Hop on over to Magnetic Magazine to check it out and catch Lia on tour in North America starting this week.

Ices is available now via iTunes, Amazon, Jagjaguwar, and your local record store.

WATCH // Lia Ices Shares Video For “Thousand Eyes”, Includes Footage From Bollywood’s ‘Dil Se’, Tour With Phantogram Continues

From Lia-

For me, this scene from Dil Se acts as a visual metaphor for the same sentiments that inspired the song “Thousand Eyes”; We move together against internal and external rhythms, we fly through nature completely entwined with technology and machines (in this video it’s the train). We go on go on go on…”

Lia Ices has shared a new video for her track “Thousand Eyes” from her latest album ‘Ices’. The video, edited by Dougal Henken, pairs the song with a scene from the 1998 Bollywood classic Dil Se (translation: From The Heart). Watch the video above or on Lia’s Youtube Channel. If you’ve yet to see her live, Lia is currently in the midst of a national tour with Phantogram. Full dates and ticket links after the jump.

Critics praise the new album,

“(Lia has an) impressively supple voice, which can spiral up into a giddy falsetto and fall crashing to the floor in dolorous rumination within a heartbeat”

- Pitchfork

“(Lia Ices)… songs have gotten fuller and lusher. Ices’ warm wash of ethereal vocals and electronics belies its chilly title.”

- Entertainment Weekly

“A fizzy lifting drink of an album”

- Telegraph // ★★★★★

WATCH // Lia Ices Shares New Video For “Higher”, Expands Tour Dates, New Album ‘Ices’ Out Sept. 16.

Only three weeks away from her sophomore album, Ices, Lia Ices shares the video for her newest single “Higher“, via Paper. The video, directed by Lia, was shot cruising/exploring around Jamaica by film maker Storm Saulter (Better Mus’ Come) with additional camera work by Bryan Ling and Andrew Marianai. Watch the video above or on Youtube / Vevo.

From Lia -
“The making of this album continuously took us out of our familiar world. During our time in jamaica we found a levity and openness we tapped into – an energy that is at the core of the song, and of this whole album. We just had fun. When you can be limitless with your experiences, give into other cultures, sounds, and people, the more you actually feel like yourself.”

Lia has a few dates peppered around September before going on tour with Phantogram. Full dates are below.

Pre-order the new album Ices out September 16th via iTunes, Amazon, Jagjaguwar, and your local record store.
