LATE NIGHT TV DEBUT // UMO Destroy Fallon Stage

Good afternoon fine folks of the interwebs. Last night, Unknown Mortal Orchestra made their late night television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Our leather daddies wasted no time in getting right down to business. If you like what you see, be sure to catch NPR Music’s live stream of UMO and Foxygen’s gig tomorrow night at Rock & Roll Hotel. Show starts at 9:00 PM ET. Details details details. Lastly, we will wrap this note up by reminding you to check out all the upcoming tour dates!

Did you watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday? If you didn’t, you should have! Kid Millions (Oneida) joined Yo La Tengo to play “Ohm.” He was one of THREE drummers, the other two were YLT’s Georgia Hubley (of course) and Fred Armisen. Watch above.

And if that isn’t enough – Questlove, Kids Millions, Georgia Hubley and Fred Armisen had a drum-off/jam session following the performance. We’re not kidding. Enjoy the madness HERE.

It is a big night for Sharon Van Etten! In her late night television debut, Van Etten will play live on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight, Thursday, January 5th. Guests also include Rachel Maddow and Portlandia co-creator, Fred Armisen.

All of this comes on the brink of her soon-to-be-released album, Tramp. The LA Times calls it,”a slow-burning but ultimately incendiary record that, in the best of worlds would propel the singer to Bon Iverian levels of acclaim.”

Out February 7th on cd and lp, Tramp is now available for pre-order in both deluxe and regular editions. The deluxe bundle includes some pretty awesome swag, including both CD and LP versions of the album as well as a digital download coupon, lyric booklet, signed letter (while supplies last), poster, exclusive ‘Serpents b/w Mike McDermott’ 7″ and early gratification download of the album, redeemable starting January 17.  You can order yours here.
