Holy Cow! BON IVER WINS TWO GRAMMYS!

Ecstatic. Screams. Happiness. Champagne popping. Rolling on the ground. Falling out of chairs. Pure Bliss. Throw up your J. Smiles. Tears. Pride. All words to describe how we at Jagjaguwar felt and acted last night when it was announced Bon Iver were not one, but two-time Grammy winners. Taking home the award for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, Justin handled his winnings with grace and we are so incredibly proud of him and all the Bon Iver family. It’s been one hell of a year for the group and we’re only in February. Guess you could say we’re all excited for the future! CONGRATULATIONS BON IVER! Watch video of Justin backstage above!

Multiple Jagjaguwar Artists Featured on Kathleen Edwards’ Upcoming Album, Voyageur

Kathleen Edwards album Voyageur, the much anticipated follow-up to 2008′s Asking for Flowers, is set for release January 17. In addition to the fact that the album is being co-produced by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, we were thrilled to find out that a number of our other artists are appearing on it as well.

Listeners can look forward to musical stylings from Sean Carey (S. Carey, Bon Iver), Brian Moen (Peter Wolf Crier) and Vernon, who also contributed backing vocals, guitar, piano, organ, bass, banjo and xylophone.

Welcome Sharon Van Etten!

Sharon Van Etten by Dusdin Condren

We are so enormously excited and proud to welcome Sharon Van Etten to the Jagjaguwar roster.

With a voice known for its stark power and subtle refinement, Sharon Van Etten has a mastery for writing songs with direct honesty and feeling. Over the course of releasing two full-length albums celebrated by fans and critics, alike – Because I Was In Love (Language of Stone; 2009) and epic (Ba Da Bing; 2010), Sharon has affected a multitude of hearts and minds over the past couple of years.  Jagjaguwar will be releasing Sharon’s third full-length in early 2012.

Earlier this year Sharon collaborated with Justin Vernon and Megafaun for Sounds of the South and performed with them as a part of the National’s Music NOW festival in Cincinnati. Watch one of their performances below.

Bon Iver – Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

The touring band for Bon Iver will be 9 members strong and include some of the best humans walking the earth. They are still putting the finishing touches on the live versions of the new Bon Iver, Bon Iver material, so Late Night With Jimmy Fallon offered to have Justin come on and perform the b-side to the “Calgary” 12″ – Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” with a dash of “Nick of Time.” Justin had a sweet couch interview with Jimmy and performed a little medley with Phil Cook on piano.

The interview video doesn’t show this, but it’s pretty awesome – as Justin walked out for his interview, and the Roots played the theme song from Northern Exposure. For all the Bon Iver n00bs – the name originates from an episode of Northern Exposure (one of Justin’s favorite shows). You can see the current cover of Billboard and the future cover of SPIN Magazine in the interview. Has a more GQ dude ever existed?

I was standing at the back of the room and almost passed out. So inspiring and incredible. Tears and hugs, guys, this is a special performance.

After the jump you can see some snaps from yesterday.  Please pre-order the new album HERE.
