Moonface’s Organ Music Pre-Order Download New Song, See Them on Tour

Moonface, the primary recording project of Spencer Krug (formerly of Sunset Rubdown, Frog Eyes and Wolf Parade), will release its first full-length album on August 2nd, Organ Music not Vibraphone like I’d Hoped.

Today Jagjaguwar is offering Organ Music for pre-order at SC Distribution. All pre-orders come with an instant digital download of the whole album. Click here to access Moonface at SC Distribution.

Last month we offered a download of the song “Fast Peter” from Organ Music, and today we’d also like to share a download for a Moonface song that did not seem to fit within the group. Over at the interactive Moonface fan site, http://moonface.ca/, the song “The Way You Wish You Could Live in the Storm” is available for download. Spencer describes it thus:

It’s a song that was cut from the record – an angry duck that didn’t get along with the other songs on the Organ Music LP. That is not to say it’s a bad song (though not to say it’s a good song, either), it’s just something I made that I don’t know what to do with. It’s more techno, or something, than the rest of the Organ Music LP. Less silky. But still, I thought it was worth sharing, for anyone who cares. It’s more than a pile of wet leaves. Maybe it’s something you can listen to while you do the dishes, or draw, or teach your baby to dance. So if you’re inclined, click on the link provided here and do with it what you will.

Go see Moonface on tour this summer! Dates are here.

Moonface Announces First Full-Length Album – “Organ Music not Vibraphone like I’d Hoped” – New Tour Dates!

Last year Jagjaguwar released a twenty-minute marimba piece by Spencer Krug under the moniker “Moonface.” It was called the Dreamland EP: marimba and shit-drums, and it was sold as a 12″ and under a pay-what-you-want system via the interactive Moonface site in which fans could contribute and read dream submissions. Jagjaguwar will release Moonface’s first full record, Organ Music not Vibraphone like I’d Hoped, on August 2nd, 2011.

Moonface’s first tour is coming in July. Check out our page for all the dates. After the jump, read a message from Spencer Krug about the new record!
