Rick Alverson’s ‘New Jerusalem’ in Theaters & iTunes/VOD Now

Following the success of Rick Alverson’s critically acclaimed film, The Comedy, Factory 25 releases New Jerusalem, his movie about an Irish immigrant upon his return from military service in Afghanistan. New Jerusalem opens tonight at Williamsburg’s Videoology and runs until December 6. Tonight’s screening will be followed by a Q&A with star Colm O’Leary and Producer Courtney Bowles, while Alverson joins both O’Leary and Bowles for a Q&A after tomorrow’s screening. In addition to the screenings in New York City, New Jerusalem will also play at Chicago’s Facets Multimedia from December 7 to December 13 and in San Francisco at Roxie Theater on December 21-27. You will find the film available digitally and as VOD on iTunes, Amazon, VuDu, Sony Playstation and Xbox.

Factory 25 Acquires the Rights to Rick Alverson’s ‘New Jerusalem’

The worldwide distribution rights to Rick Alverson’s film, New Jerusalem, have been acquired by Factory 25. Starring Will Oldham and Colm O’Leary, New Jerusalem follows an Irish immigrant to America upon his return from military service in Afghanistan. The film will premiere theatrically on Novemeber 30 at Brooklyn’s Videology theater with screenings across the country to follow. In addition to the screenings, New Jerusalem will be available digitally at iTunes, Amazon and Netflix come the premiere date. We can expect a DVD release in the spring of 2013. New Jerusalem is just one of the three films Rick has created in conjunction with Jagjaguwar. His film, The Comedy, will be distributed by Tribeca and available on demand (iTunes, Amazon, Netflix, etc.) next week. It hits theaters on November 9. Watch The Comedy trailer HERE.
