Black Mountain very recently performed “The Hair Song” on France’s Canal Plus, and it’s awesome! My college French is a little rusty, but it appears as though Wilderness Heart was their Album of the Week. You can also watch interviews with Jeremy and Steve after the performance that are then overdubbed in en Francais.  Love it.

Psych-Rock Tour of 2010 Begins Today

Since the very moment Jagjaguwar brought UK’s Wolf People into the label fold, the tour pairing of Black Mountain and Wolf People was slated as a “Must Happen” on our label dream list. Well, friends of rock, that  wondrous day has come. Today in Oxford, UK, the stoner jam behemoths get together for a 7-date run of all that is right and hirsute and unkept in the rock world. Boogie on.

Fun Fact: Wolf People’s own Joe Hollick created that killer poster featured above. Probably on his coffee break or something. Joe handles all the Wolf People album art. And well, he kind of nails it most every time.

Black Mountain release Wilderness Heart on Sept. 14, and Wolf People release their first proper full-length, Steeple, on Oct. 12.

Watch New Black Mountain Video for “The Hair Song”

Ahh: tender, young, punk love – is there anything better?

A sweet little Black Mountain love connection is made in the new video for “The Hair Song,” directed by Zoe Bower and Simon Chan. “The Hair Song” includes an extremely relatable plot line to any music fans whose coming-of-age years included being shut out of 21+ clubs and finding your crush at the show.

We have a very cool making-of video to share as well! Meet the cast and crew and see the micro-movie magic go down:

Remember, kiddos! Black Mountain’s “The Hair Song” appears on their upcoming album, Wilderness Heart, out on Jagjaguwar on September 14th in the US (13th in the UK). If you order it RIGHT NOW, you’ll get an instant digital download of the record as well as a nice poster. CLICK HERE TO PRE-ORDER AND VASTLY IMPROVE YOUR LIFE.

Watch Black Mountain Perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon!

Picture 3

Last night was a total blast! We headed to 30 Rock to go see Black Mountain perform on the first episode since Jimmy Fallon hosted the Emmy Awards.  WHAT A SHOW IT WAS.

The mysterious Scandinavian-looking performer/stylists of “Let Us Play With Your Look” gave a very handsome audience member a new ‘do. The beautiful and radiant Drew Barrymore was promoting her new movie about Long Distance Relayshes, Going the Distance. She faced off with Jimmy in a new game that is similar to the Indiana pastime of “Cornhole.” Snoop Doggy Dogg came out promoting some new charity for the children, but not before he set off the NBC fire alarm from smoking a tonnnnn of you know what in his dressing room.

Black Mountain brilliantly closed out the show with “Old Fangs.” The sound on Fallon is really great – I’ve never heard Jeremy’s Moog sound so awesome. The band got loose and performed the hell out of the song.

Make sure when you’re at the NBC site to watch “Let Us Play With Your Look.”  You’ll bust a gut – shit is so weird.
