Oneida’s Collaboration with Arrington de Dionyso at the K Records Studio
Posted: September 8th, 2010 by Lucy
When Oneida was on their west coast tour a couple of weeks ago, they stopped in at the K Records Studio with Arrington de Dionyso and The Lights and recorded 26 songs together. The recordings (Attn: audio nerds) were made on a lathe recording machine. Arrington used plastic plates (like, SOLO-brand style picnic plates) to cut these master recordings on. I have it on high authority from Kid Millions himself that the machine looked like this:

The end result was about 13 plates that have been assembled into lovely art-covered sleeves as you see above.
Digital copies were made from the plates, and K Records is sending them out today via their K Zip Pak subcription service. The K Zip Pak is “just endless screaming, crying and carrying on compressed into bite-sized chunks of three minute pop songs. Passionate music for passionate people, like you.” Sometimes the world is perfect.
Several of these plates (that you can listen to on any player) will be made for sale on Arrington de Dionyso’s tour (that starts today)! Be the master, own the master!
