Bon Iver on Austin City Limits “Towers” from Austin City Limits on Vimeo.

Earlier this year, Bon Iver headed south to tape a live performance for PBS’s long running show, Austin City Limits. Heading into their 38th season, ACL will begin to air those new episodes starting this October, with Bon Iver’s scheduled for the 13th. Watch Justin Vernon and the gang perform “Towers” in the ACL preview above!

Bon Iver will head back out on tour this fall. Dates include a four day run at Radio City Music Hall with support from Anais Mitchell and Polica. See the full list of shows HERE.

Bon Iver Announces New U.S. Tour Dates

Today we’re happy to announce new Bon Iver tour dates along the Eastern United States, including two additional dates in New York at Radio City Music Hall. Anais Mitchell will open for most of these shows.

Much has been said of Bon Iver’s transformation into a nine-person live band. The Miami New Times in a recent live review, captures the essence of this magic particularly well: “Often, live music is an attempt to approximate something captured in a studio. As exceptional as Bon Iver’s recordings are, Bon Iver in concert is an entirely different creature. By turns defiant and pliant, pained and triumphant, with Bon Iver, the songs are not merely live but living.” Check out the full list of tour dates below.

Watch: Bon Iver Covers Anais Mitchell’s “Coming Down”

Bon Iver will be heading back from their Australian tour pretty soon for a string of US dates and festival appearances. While they were down under though, Justin Vernon and the band sat down for a live studio session with the Australian radio network Triple J. The set included a lovely cover of Anais Mitchell’s “Coming Down,” a song off her latest album Young Man In America. If you’ll recall, Justin appeared on Mitchell’s 2010 album Hadestown. Watch and listen their cover of “Coming Down” above and download the audio HERE.

Awesome Justin Vernon collaborations keep rolling in just when you need something to sustain your Bon Iver high.  We know the truth! You’ve worn out your copy of For Emma, Forever Ago and every morning when you get up you longingly stroke the ticket stubs from their last show that you have stuck in your bathroom mirror.  Bon Iver will be back, dudes, do not fear.

In the meantime, Justin has contributed to a number of songs on the upcoming Anaïs Mitchell album, Hadestown.  It’s being released this Tuesday, March 9th, by our friends at Righteous Babe.  Details and music to hear after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »
