Dinosaur Jr. On Tour Now, ‘I Bet On Sky’ Still Shredding

Dinosaur Jr.’s record, I Bet On Sky, came out last week! It’s the third album since the reuniting of the original three. In his 7.9 review, Pitchfork’s Brandon Stosuy recently shared some words on the album. He starts at Dinosaur Jr.’s early beginning and moves us quickly through a brief history, showing us the evolution of the new work >>> the review.

“It’s a subtle shift, but this is neither a move away from their sound nor toward the raging rock of old (even with all those warm-and-fuzzy Mascis guitar solos). In the sprawling, happy anthem “I Know It Oh So Well”, Mascis asks, “Is there light ahead?” Judging from the music here, the answer is a resounding yes.” – Pitchfork

J Mascis recently gave an interview at CBC Music. Is Mascis jazzed about the direction of Dino these days? Head to CBC to find out.

“‘Gene Simmons once said that to me,’ Mascis reveals. ‘That was pretty exciting. I was on a Kiss compilation and he said, ‘Everyone’s really jazzed that Dinosaur Jr.’s gonna be on this compilation.’ So, I think of Gene Simmons when I hear that word.’”
