Justin Vernon Composes Song for The Silver Lake Chorus

The Silver Lake Chorus will self-release “From The Snow Tipped Hills” b/w “Wreckage” on September 14. Premiering today at Pitchfork, “From The Snow Tipped Mountains” is a song written especially for the group by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, while “Wreckage” came from The New Pornographers’ AC Newman. Listen to the gorgeous recording below!

For those unfamiliar, The Silver Lake Chorus is a collective of 25 singers who rock indie music by way of choral arrangements. Based in Los Angeles, TSLC is led by artistic and music directors Sam Rader and Mikey Wells. You may know the group from the theme song for the SNL feature film MacGruber or their work on The Lonely Island and Akon’s single, “I Just Had Sex.”
