Supreme Dicks Pre-Order + New MP3 Available

The Supreme Dicks discography reissue, Breathing and Not Breathing, is available for pre-order from SC Distro today. To celebrate, Jagjaguwar has premiered the track “Jack Smith” on the Village Voice Sound of the City blog. “Jack Smith” is a track from the Dicks’ album, The Unexamined Life, and was originally released on Homestead Recordings, home to Dicks contemporaries Big Black, Sonic Youth, Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr. You can listen “Jack Smith” right now! The Voice calls it “a languorous tune that starts off with delicate finger-picked guitar and eventually crashes into chaos with shards of guitar chords, fall-to-the-floor drumming, and moans.”
Breathing and Not Breathing is a reissue of the complete recordings of the Supreme Dicks as a 4 CD box set. This will include both of the band’s studio albums, The Unexamined Life and The Emotional Plague; Workingman’s Dick, a collection of early archival recordings; and the EP This Is Not A Dick, which has been fleshed out with rare and unreleased tracks. Also available are 2xLP editions of The Unexamined Life and The Emotional Plague. Pre-order while the gettin’s good.
