New Solo Record from Ladyhawk’s Duffy Driediger

Picture 2

Good news for Ladyhawk fans such as myself!  Today marks the release of a new solo record by Duffy Driediger – Duffy and The Doubters Scriptural Surprise.  9 rad “punk rock commercial jingles.” I actually had no idea this was coming, so I was blindsided with joy and have only stopped listening for lunch and going to the bathroom and such.

Scriptural Surprise is an LP-only release from Triple Crown Recordings (order from their email at the site), and the LP includes a digital download code and a 24 page 11″x17″ newsprint booklet of photographs by the brilliant Jason Nocito. Jason has shot some of my favorite music photography, particularly the Bon Iver cover of The Fader as well as the Ladyhawk feature from 2008 around the release of Shots.

Tracklisting is a good read:

1. Metal Detector
2. No Wild Horses
3. Bedside Bible Bong
4. Sorry Mom My Brain Is Dumb
5. Doubters
6. Spider Baby Jesus
7. Ouija Bored
8. Planet of Vampires
9. Horror

Duffy also sings on my favorite single of the year, “The Hundredth Time” by Gigi. It’s available as a 7″ from K Records and can be purchased here. What the fuck – it’s SO GOOD.
