CONGRATULATIONS, BESNARDS!  The Besnard Lakes have been nominated for the Polaris Prize, Canada’s once-a-year prize for the best Canadian album.  This is the second time the band has been nominated for the prize – they were shortlisted in 2007 for The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse.  Their brilliant new album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night was nominated today.  The awards gala is on September 20th and will be webcast and broadcast by Much Music.
