Download Peter Gabriel’s beautiful take on Bon Iver’s “Flume”

One day Justin Vernon answered his phone, and Peter Gabriel was on the other end. There’s no recording of the conversation, but we bet it kind of went like this:
Peter Gabriel: Hi Justin Vernon, this is Peter Gabriel, and I’m doing a covers record. I’d like to do a cover of your most excellent song “Flume” from your album For Emma, Forever Ago if you wouldn’t mind.
Justin Vernon: Um, hi Peter Gabriel. You’d like to do what with the what now?
How exciting, right?! We’ve always known that Peter Gabriel was the coolest person, but it turns out that Peter Gabriel IS the coolest person.
Mr. Gabriel’s new album of covers is called Scratch My Back, and the album art is two blood cells all snuggled together (as pictured above). It comes out on February 15th. Lots and lots of info can be found about this record at his website.
