As loyal readers of the Jagjaguwar news blurbs, you probably already know that Julie Doiron has been on the road in the States with K Records ambassador/minstrel Calvin Johnson for a couple weeks now supporting her latest album ‘Woke Myself Up’. We’ve always wondered what else goes on during a tour when the artists involved aren’t up on the stage. Apparently, it’s more than just staring straight ahead in a van for hours on end. Garrison Reid caught up with Julie and Calvin in Denton, TX before their show to record a stripped-down version of the Halo Benders classic ‘Lonesome Sundown’ for his blog radio.
