Lia Ices “New Myth (Remix by Tenderflex) by DOJAGSC
This morning was the presentation of the Spring 2011 Electric Feathers collection at The Box at Lincoln Center. The runway show included a live musical element - Lia Ices performed vocals for two remixes of songs from her latest album, Grown Unknown, as well as modeled from the collection.
The remixes for the songs “New Myth” and “Grown Unknown” were produced by Tenderflex, the new project of DJ Logic (Mos Def, Medeski Martin and Wood) and producer David Maurice (Jay Z, Kerli).
Shot on Super 8 Film in Rome, the video for “Love Is Won” by Lia Ices is a gorgeous document that will have you nostalgic for traveling with someone you love. The video was directed by Christin Turner in collaboration with Lia Ices.
Lia Ices will play at the Mercury Lounge in NYC tonight, in the UK this month and on the west coast in December with The Sea and Cake. Dates are on the tour page.

The music of Lia Ices has been used for several contemporary dances, and the acclaimed dance competition So You Think You Can Dance used Lia’s song “Grown Unknown” for the opening number of their second-to-final show of this year’s season.
The Wall Street Journal wrote:
“Grown Unknown” by Lia Ices is the song for the opening group dance. There’s a lot of clapping for rhythm, a big red rose in the middle and all the dancers are in white. It’s very pretty. And cool music. The rose ascends to heaven at the end and confetti falls to the stage. This might be the first time all season I run to iTunes to buy a song I heard on this show.”
Today we premiered the Yours Truly live recording of Lia Ices’ “Ice Wine” on Pitchfork TV. In the Nate Chan-directed clip, filmed at Different Fur Studios in San Francisco, Ices and her band were in the midst of a tremendous tour with The Cave Singers on their way to SXSW in March of 2011.
Lia Ices will play a handful of select dates later this summer, including a set at Lollapalooza.
